Following graduation in 1996 from the University of Otago I worked for the Dunedin Public Hospital Physiotherapy Department. The OE beckoned and I was fortunate to gain employment for several years with a leading Sports and Orthopaedic Team in central London. Barbican Health and BUPA Wellness clinics specialised in the screening and rehabilitation of elite athletes and the management of corporates with occupational and sporting injuries.
Fortunately there was still time to pursue my interests in travel, skiing, biking holidays and dance.
On return to Dunedin I established Physiotherapy @ Les Mills. This venue allows rehabilitation access to a community based gymnasium, hydrotherapy pool, and own Pilates Facilities. The rehabilitation focus is to maximise function through muscle balance with specific exercise prescription.
Our Les Mills team of Physiotherapists have been selected for their specialist physiotherapy skills and sporting and recreational skills. Currently our therapists are senior rugby players, senior soccer coaches, rock climbers, skiers, triathletes and dancers.
My particular interest is in Injury Prevention, isolating the cause of a problem and ensuring a client is educted with strategies to enhance comfort and maximise ongoing function.
Since marrying a farmer from Owaka I commute between Dunedin and the Catlins several times per week and am becoming increasingly involved in Injury Prevention in Rural Settings.
We look forward to meeting with you to discuss your specific interests/ training goals and the ways available to address your needs.
It is now more than 40 years since graduating as a Physiotherapist at the University of Queensland.
Over that time I have been fortunate to combine clinical physical rehabilitation with education of Physiotherapists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists in their undergraduate courses.
I established Rehabilitation Associates Ltd to allow our multi-disciplinary team to work collaboratively in a multitude of community and workplace venues.
The fuchsia flower delights me and I collect fuchsia plants, and now fuchsia china.
When Rehabilitation Associates Ltd established a community base for clients it was named Fuchsia House. At Fuchsia House we hold a large number of healthy lifestyle seminars, activity groups, Nordic walking and social activities.
Linda Mosley, our daughter, is a skilled Physiotherapist focussing on injury prevention and post orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation. I am fortunate that our teams can work collaboratively to provide effective, innovative rehabilitation programmes in well equipped community facilities.
I am a South African born Physiotherapist who graduated form the University of Otago in 2007. Since this time I have been working for Andrea Mosley and Linda Mosley, and have gained experience in a diverse range of areas. These have included management of clients using hydrotherapy, gym based injury rehabilitation, work hardening programmes, and work site visits with a keen interest in post surgical rehabilitation.
Recently I have inherited the role of running the knee clinic from one our retired therapists and have thoroughly enjoyed developing this service.
In my spare time I enjoy weight training, playing premier rugby for Pirates rugby club and relaxing with a good book.
I am relatively new to both Rehabilitation Services Otago Ltd and the Physiotherapy field, having completed my degree at Otago University in 2009.
I am currently enjoying the variety of our day to day work and the broad range of personalities and expertise the practice has to offer.
My professional interests at this stage are tending towards the wide world of sport and the contribution Physiotherapy can make to the athletes injury prevention and treatment on functional performance.
As I grew in Central Otago my personal interests lie largely with the outdoors including snow skiing, water skiing and various team sports plus I enjoy adventures with our young lab Baxter.
